DEEPSOIL v3.7 has been released!

Please see the Tutorial & Manual for information regarding the historical development of DEEPSOIL

DEEPSOIL News

  DEEPSOIL v3.7

  August 07, 2009

DEEPSOIL v3.7 is now available for download.  A number of updates have been made to the program since the release of v3.5, including:

  • A DEEPSOIL v3.7 icon is now added to the user’s desktop for ease of access to the program
  • Updated terminology for selecting analysis options
  • Recommended and default values for a select set of analysis parameters
  • A user-optional beta feature of exporting output data to a Microsoft Excel file* for both standard and batch mode analyses
    *This feature is currently time-consuming depending on the number of layers in the analysis, but will be updated with future releases
  • Additional output such as the “Maximum Stress Profile” is now included in all exported output
  • Minor interface-related errors have been fixed
  • A new energy-based pore water pressure generation model is now available for nonlinear analyses: the GMP/UIUC model. Please see the DEEPSOIL Manual for further details.
  • Improvements have been made to the functionality of the cell tables within DEEPSOIL. Some of these improvements include:

    Pressing the “DELETE” key will now clear the contents of the selected cell;

    The hotkeys Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X, and Ctrl+V will now perform the Select All, Copy, Cut, and Paste commands, respectively;

    When pasting data to a cell table, previous versions of
    DEEPSOIL would only paste data into the currently selected cells. This version functions similarly to pasting data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, whereby only the initial destination cell needs to be selected;

    Double-clicking a cell containing layer data (Step 2) will immediately open the Layer Properties window. Please see the
    DEEPSOIL Manual for further details.
  • All other updates from previous DEEPSOIL releases.  A text file listing all of the updates which have been made to DEEPSOIL since 2008 is available here.

UNINSTALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF DEEPSOIL BEFORE INSTALLING THE LATEST VERSION

    Features:

  • Redesigned Graphic User Interface (GUI)
  • Batch Mode Analysis available
  • MRDF Pressure-Dependent Hyperbolic Model
  • New Procedures for Selection/Fitting of Non-linear Parameters
  • New Small-Strain Damping Formulation
  • Automatic Exporting of Output Data
  • Porewater Pressure/Coupled Capability UNDER DEVELOPMENT

Version 3.7 BETA is designed for use with the Windows XP operating system, with Service Pack 2 installed.  Other operating systems may or may not support DEEPSOIL v3.7.

The Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 is required to run DEEPSOIL v3.7.  You may download the .NET Framework v2.0 installer from the Microsoft website.

  NOTE:  Saved profiles from earlier versions of DEEPSOIL may not be compatible with  Version 3.7.
              Please reanalyze your profiles using v3.7.

  DEEPSOIL v2.6

     DEEPSOIL v2.6 is still available for download.

Welcome to DEEPSOIL-

DEEPSOIL is a 1D site response analysis program with graphical user-interface that can perform both

  • 1D Nonlinear analysis-
  • 1D Equivalent linear analysis
